Lara and Josh's Wedding

I had a blast shooting Lara and Josh's wedding! Becca Bond was my partner in crime for the day. Look for her images on her blog!

Here are some of the highlights I captured from the day:

we had to chase the light | charlotte nc family photographer

Is it just me or do I photograph the most beautiful, lovable people? Not only are they beautiful and lovable, but they are super cool. We started out our session in the botanical gardens at UNCC, but it was overcast and gray and the gardens, while beautiful, were just too shady to let a lot of sunshine in. So we went on a wild goose chase for a field I saw a few days before. And anyone who knows me knows I don't have the greatest sense of direction. So we drove in circles for a while. But then we found the field, we got a little sunlight, and it was well worth it!

This is C. and his lovey:

These were my favorite...

Look at these sweet baby rolls!

It was all fun, but then she got sleepy... sitting in a chair in a field and looking THAT adorable is exhausting, people.

i love blue eyed babies! | charlotte family photographer

I meant to blog about this lovely family weeks ago but I am already SWAMPED (and the holiday season hasn't even started!) so I'm behind and doing things backwards!

Look at these sweet girls and their gorgeous eyes! Oh, and you can't forget their lovable doggy Hope! She had to size me up a little when I first came in, but she was on my lap licking my face in no time.

girls in tutus | charlotte child photographer

Tuesday morning after Olivia (my daughter) and I dropped Mason (my son) at his first day of preschool, (yes, I cried. More about that later.) I went to hang out with my friend and fellow amazing photographer Becca Bond and her cutie pie Willow. It's funny how Becca and I met -- I have to share this story. I found her business card in a kids' salon, and brought it home so I could look at her site. A week or two later, I get an email from her, saying she'd been checking out my site and loved my work. Odd coincidence, right? It gets more odd. Turns out we live ten minutes from each other, and have little girls who were the same age. So we meet up at the park, our girls hold hands side by side in their strollers, and Becca and I hit it off right away. Have you ever just met someone that you feel so comfortable around that you feel like you've known them forever? I've learned so much from her and she's such a positive person, I love her to pieces.

And now our girls are almost two years old! It's been so sweet to watch them grow side by side, still holding hands, their personalities blossoming more and more every day. On a whim, we dressed them up in tutus and took a walk, cameras in hand. Here they are:

a special little guy

While visiting family in Kentucky, I couldn't miss the chance to take pictures of this sweet little dude. His mommy and I have been best friends since we were... 11 or 12 years old. (Which pretty much makes this little guy my nephew, right?) Now we live ten hours away from each other and don't keep in touch as well as we both should. But the bond still is and always will be there.
